Strictly Come Dancing 2020 – Week 8 (Semi Final) Discussion/Poll

Well here we are. It’s the semi final and also the final spoiler weekend of the series. The remaining 5 couples are so close to the final they can almost see the Glitterball. But before that they have the semi final to navigate and two dances to get through!

But who is a finalist or potential winner? And whose journey should come to an end? You can let me know your thoughts about that or anything else to do with tonight’s show right here in the comments. Or head on over to Facebook or Twitter.

No prizes for getting involved in the discussion sadly. You can read more about why (though the reasons should be obvious) over on my my FAQ post which also covers a lot of information about what is happening with this site during lockdown 2.0 and beyond though as I’ll cover in a bit things should be back to normal this week.

As always I’ll be opening a poll right here when all the couples have danced. However the poll question has changed. I’m now asking who got your votes (or who would have if you live abroad and can’t vote or didn’t vote for another reason). You can as always select up to 3 options (if you voted for more than 3 people pick the three who got more votes from you or your favourite 3). If you can’t vote sadly the site thinks you are a robot. Theres some tips in the FAQ to get your vote registered but if the issue persists sadly I can’t do much about it

It’s looking like the spoiler should be back to normal this weekend as there is an audience and a source has a mole but The Strictly Spoiler can deliver either way moles or no moles. Depending on when the mole comes through either a conventional spoiler will be posted tonight or if not then we will proceed as we have in lockdown with a spoiler based on the exit poll coming tonight and confirmation/correction coming later tonight or tomorrow morning! There is a strong chance though that things will be normal this week and we will get a spoiler tonight!

It’s been a tough year for all of us but providing this site is still going to cost me close to £1000 this series with my hosting bill for November hitting an eye watering £550. Donations on patreon start at just the price of a coffee a month and the patreon page is very high on my list of things to work on for 2021 so hopefully I will be able to bring more to it than a warm fuzzy feeling going forwards.

There’s also ways you can help me out for free and even make some money yourself by doing so. One way I’ve been plugging on social media a lot these last few weeks is by checking your energy prices and earning yourselves £50 in the bargain by switching using my magic link (you must complete the switch using the link and not just get a quote which you come back to later). Octopus energy have 100% green electricity, are a Which recommended supplier and were one of the few suppliers to maintain a full telephone service during the pandemic. They’re a different supplier to the one I was recommending last series and are definitely worth a look as we head into the colder months.

Switching energy suppliers is quick (it takes about 2 minutes to sign up from my link and usually about 3 weeks for the process to complete), there is no interruption to your energy supply, no engineers have to visit and you don’t need to change you meters (unless you sign up to a smart tariff and don’t have a compatible meter). I get £50 from every switch so this does help me out quite a bit.
