Strictly Come Dancing 2020 Finalists – HRVY and Janette

I’m rocking these out faster than The BBC with the contestant announcements so here is the second part in my series where we look at the couples in tonight’s final and their Strictly journey so far. We will be taking them in the no particular order of qualification for the final so we continue with…… HRVY and Janette

Worst Dance

We have to go back to movie week for HRVY and Janette’s worst performing dance. Their Gnomes inspired Cha Cha Cha scored just 21 points with the judges (6,7,8)

Best Dance

HRVY and Janette have had all 3 judges reaching for their 10 paddles on two occasions this series. The first was back in week 6 when their Couple’s Choice in the style of Street/Commercial got maximum scores (10,10,10)

The judges dusted off their 10 paddles again in last week’s Semi Final with their Charleston (10,10,10)

Average Score

HRVY and Janette have scored 235 points across 9 dances. This makes for a 3 judge average of 26.1 or a weighted 4 judge average of 34.8. This is the second highest average of the finalists

Number Of Times In The Dance Off

HRVY and Janette are one of two couple’s in this week’s final to have never faced the dance off

Can They Win?

Momentum seems to be building with them over the last few weeks. They are currently sitting at 13/8 second favourites with the bookmakers which to me seems to underestimate their chances as I’d personally rate them as favourites to win.

They’ve topped the last few polls. There’s rarely a bad word said about them on my community and they do seem to be riding a wave of momentum after a bad few weeks from a prior favourite couple (and current favourite with the bookies).

Its going to be a close final and any of the finalists (with one possible exception and we will get to them soon enough) could be lifting the glitter ball tonight….. and then not celebrating because they are in tier 3!

What do you think of HRVY and Janette. Will you be cheering them on to the glitter ball tonight? You can let me know your thoughts about them in the comments or why not head on over to Facebook or Twitter to join the communities there for your chance to win a £50 voucher!

Stay tuned as I’ll be hammering these out during the course of the day before the final kicks off. Next will be Bill and Oti!

Providing this site is still going to cost me close to £1000 this series especially as I now have to maintain powerful servers on Sundays as well as Saturday night due to increased demand across Sunday! I always stress this on the donation links but it is more important than ever in 2020 that you only consider helping me out with these costs if you can afford to do so. I would not want to cause anyone else hardship because they chose to help me out. However all donations are as ever gratefully received. You can make a one time donation by clicking on THIS LINK or using the button below:

Also new for 2020 you can make a regular donation by becoming a patreon. Donations on patreon start at just the price of a coffee a month and if the patreon page takes off I can start looking at patreon exclusive content/rewards.

There’s also ways you can help me out for free and even make some money yourself by doing so. One way I’ve been plugging on social media a lot these last few weeks is by checking your energy prices and earning yourselves £50 in the bargain by switching using my magic link (you must complete the switch using the link and not just get a quote which you come back to later). Octopus energy have 100% green electricity, are a Which recommended supplier and were one of the few suppliers to maintain a full telephone service during the pandemic. They’re a different supplier to the one I was recommending last series and are definitely worth a look as we head into the colder months.

Switching energy suppliers is quick (it takes about 2 minutes to sign up from my link and usually about 3 weeks for the process to complete), there is no interruption to your energy supply, no engineers have to visit and you don’t need to change you meters (unless you sign up to a smart tariff and don’t have a compatible meter). I get £50 from every switch so this does help me out quite a bit.

Don’t forget if you do switch to enter their competition to win an Electric Car. You should see details on how to enter in your account dashboard.

Alternatively you can help me out by doing things as simple as liking all my content, sharing it and getting involved in the discussions on the social networks. This all helps to increase my visibility and get me noticed on those networks and is also appreciated!

Strictly Come Dancing 2020 Finalists – Maisie and Gorka

Ok a bit later than planned but here is the first part in my series where we look at the couples in tonight’s final and their Strictly journey so far. We will be taking them in the no particular order of qualification for the final so we begin with…… Maisie and Gorka

Worst Dance

This is going to be a very strange category as Maisie and Gorka have never scored below a 7 and never received a total score below 24. They hit 24 on 3 occasions. The first back in week 1 where all 3 judges reached for their 8 paddles for their Samba (8,8,8)

Their Frozen inspired American Smooth in movie week also had the judges scoring 24 (8,7,9)

Finally their Cha Cha Cha the following week also had the judges scoring them an average of an 8 with a score of 24 (7,8,9)

Best Dance

Maisie and Gorka had all the judges reaching for their 10 paddles during last week’s semi final for their couple’s choice in the style of Street/Commercial (10,10,10)

Average Score

Maisie and Gorka have amassed a total of 240 points across 9 dances making for an average of 26.7 (three judges) or a weighted average for those who want to compare with previous series of 35.6 (four judges). This is the highest average of the 4 finalists!

Number Of Times In The Dance Off

Maisie and Gorka have survived two dance offs on their route to the final. First in Week 4 after the above mentioned Cha Cha Cha. They lived to dance another day in a close split decision Dance Off against Max and Dianne

The following week they found themselves in the dance off again. Their Salsa (9,9,9) was enough to dispense with Caroline and Johannes in a unanimous judges decision

Can They Win?

Maisie and Gorka are the strongest couple in terms of their judges scores and average. Though dance ability doesn’t always matter in this as this is an entertainment show with a dance element rather than a strict dance competition. They are currently 11/2 with the bookies.

It’s hard to say what their chances are. They’ve survived two dance offs which isn’t a good sign however we have had winners who have survived that many dance offs before, most recently Ore and Joanne.

Maisie seems to be a marmite character with some of the viewers too looking at your comments and will need a lot of public support in the final to overcome two potential juggernauts in the cases of HRVY and Janette and Bill and Oti. Stranger things have happened though especially in 2020, a year where anything can happen! This final could be a lot closer than it might look on paper and a lot will probably depend on what they can bring to the final to attract the votes.

What do you think of Maisie and Gorka. Will you be cheering them on to the glitter ball tonight? You can let me know your thoughts about them in the comments or why not head on over to Facebook or Twitter to join the communities there for your chance to win a £50 voucher!

Strictly Come Dancing 2020 – Who Do You Want To Win? (poll)

Ordinarily I’d change my poll question during the semi final and ask who your winner is. However due to having to try and capture your BBC votes with the exit poll in case it was required for the spoiler I wasn’t able to do that this week.

So here it is instead! I’m asking you who your winner is. There can only be one winner so please only select one answer. The system won’t allow more or fewer votes! Also don’t be a robot. The poll system doesn’t like robots!

This poll is no longer accepting votes

Strictly Come Dancing 2020 - Who do you want to win? (select 1 option only)

Keep tuned as plenty more content is coming to this site over the next week. I’ll be looking at each of the 4 finalists and their journeys so far. Plus I might have a little surprise in store for those of you on Facebook and Twitter so keep an eye out for that!
