Strictly Come Dancing 2016 – Final Songs/Dances

The BBC last night announced some of the routines we have to look forward to during this weekend’s final and without any further ado here they are:

Favourite Dances

There really isn’t any surprises in the routines the three finalists have chosen to perform as their favourite dances

Ore and Joanne’s Favourite Dance will be a Jive to “Runaway Baby” by Bruno Mars. Last time out this routine scored 39 (9,10,10,10)

Danny and Oti’s Favourite Dance will be a Samba to “Magalenha” by Sergio Mendes. Last time out this routine scored a maximum 40 (10,10,10,10).

Louise and Kevin’s Favourite Dance will be an Argentine Tango to “Tanguera” by Sexteto Mayor. Last time this routine scored 39 (9,10,10,10)

Showdances

Ore and Joanne will be performing a Showdance to “I Got Rhythm” by George and Ira Gershwin
Danny and Oti will be performing a Showdance to “Set Fire To The Rain” by Adele
Louise and Kevin will be performing a Showdance to “One Moment in Time” by Whitney Houston

Judges Choices

It is not revealed as yet what previous dances the judges will select for the finalists to perform. Last series this was not revealed until the final itself and it’s likely to be the same this series

What do you think of the Favourite Dances or the music for the show dances? Let me know in the comments section or over on Facebook or Twitter

Strictly Come Dancing 2016 Finalists – Ore and Joanne

Time for the first part in a three part series where I take a look at the three couples who will be participating in next weekend’s final and their Strictly journey so far. I’ll be running this series in the order they qualified for the final so kicking things off are Ore and Joanne

Best Dance

Ore and Joanne have scored 39 on two occasions this series. The first time was for their Jive in week 4 (9,10,10,10) something many people consider to be their standout dance and the point at which the judges and public took notice of Ore and Joanne as possible contenders

The second occasion came during last weekend’s semi final (9,10,10,10). The judges heaped praise on the routine but a lot of you in the comments were not quite as impressed as the judges

Worst Dance

You have to go back to the opening two weeks for their worst routines. Both weeks they scored 27 for their Tango (7,7,6,7) and their Cha Cha Cha (6,7,7,7)

Average Score

Ore and Joanne have amassed a total of 452 points from the judges across 13 routines making for an average score of 34.8. This is the lowest average of the 3 finalists

Number Of Times In The Dance Off

Ore and Joanne have survived two dance offs. The first time was in week 7 after their Salsa which scored 34 (8,8,9,9). They survived after beating Laura and Giovanni in the dance off

The second time was during week 11 after their Foxtrot scored 36 (9,9,9,9). This time they survived the dance off after beating Robert and Oksana

Odds Of Winning

At the time of writing Ore and Joanne are a 7-1 shot to lift the glitterball with Coral. If you fancy a flutter Coral will give new customers £20 in free bets when you stake £5 on Strictly or any other market.

Again at the time of writing 17% of visitors to this site want them to win in the latest poll currently running and in actual fact they are still lagging behind eliminated couple Claudia and AJ in that poll although they have been gaining ground since the last spoiler came in naming them as finalists!

Can they do it? They’d need a very strong final to be in with a shot as they are the clear outsiders at the moment but anything can happen if they pick up enough of the floating voters who only vote based on the final.

That said there does seem to be some ill feeling towards them from the public looking over comments here and on my social feeds due to some people feeling they were overmarked in the Semi Final in order to secure their place in the final. I’m not saying whether those feelings are right or wrong as I do try and stay impartial during my posts and comments on the show but the level of ill feeling currently happening may scupper their chances of winning regardless of how they dance.

This is also Joanne’s first final although her brother, Kevin, has been in 3 previous ones as well as this one so I’m sure he will have some tips for her. Though perhaps not too many since he will be competing against her for the glitterball!

What do you think of Ore and Joanne? Are you supporting them? Do you think they can win? Let me know in the comments section or over on Facebook or Twitter. It’s the final week of the Strictly Spoiler competition and your last chance to get involved in the discussion and win a prize. There’s a £20 Amazon voucher up for grabs and you could also win a Kindle Fire Tablet in the final monthly draw. Entries to the competition for this series close at midnight on Sunday 18th December 2016 and all you need to do to enter is get involved in the discussion here, on Facebook or on Twitter.

Stay tuned in the coming days for my write up on the remaining two finalists. Louise and Kevin will be next……
