Strictly Come Dancing 2017 – Week 9 (Blackpool) Discussion/Poll

Strictly has hit the bright lights of Blackpool with the remaining 8 couples all hoping to set the Tower Ballroom alight and survive into next week where not only will they have their normal dance to contend with but they will also have the carnage of the Pasodoblathon (no really!)

But who ascended to the top of the tower and who should be placed in the tower dungeon? As always you can let me know your thoughts about that or anything else to do with tonight’s show right here in the comments section below (comments only appear on individual posts and not the home pages where more than one post will display. Click on the name of the post you wish to comment on if you don’t see the comments section).

Or you can join the community of 7500 people over on Facebook and let me know what you think during any of my live posts over the course of tonight and in the coming week.

Or why not head on over to Twitter where a community of over 13,000 of you await and tweet @davejthorp remembering to include #StrictlySpoiler in your comments.

As always a poll will open here when all the couples have danced. You will be able to select your favourites and like normal you can choose up to 3 options.

Blackpool spoilers are generally later than other spoilers throughout the main series so it could end up a late one tonight but as soon as I know anything you’ll read it here first at the home of the Strictly Spoiler.

well not sure if it’s because I’m tired, or that I could actually see the TV (worked out when to wear glasses hint – not the TV just the laptop) but felt the whole thing was a bit of a flop tonight. could also be cos of all the hype around that place oop north ;-).
    thanks to Dave as always

    • Norma Albinson

Felt the same. Its been said before but do they really need those extra dancers?

  • Mistynow

Scoring and judges comments appear inconsistent yet again tonight. I begin to feel that Strictly is long past its best

it’s that claudia person drives me mad, and tess so bland, having said that better than broocie

  • Sabrina Bowe

I do wonder whether the normally untouchable Debbie could be in trouble tonight – the whole thing was a bit cringey for me! I’m not sure many could beat her if she does end up in the dance off though.

Davood was my favourite this week!

Hope the spoiler is not too late, likely to be up in the early hours with my teething little one so ought to go to sleep at a decent time!!!

I love love LOVE Strictly Ballroom but I didn’t get much from Susan and Kevin’s dance tonight.

Love you Spoiler. Look forward to the results!

not feeling it usually Blackpool a great weekend, think to many Divas fav this week Davood and Joe, why does Alexandra Burke keep crying, getting on my nerves, she is a professionally choreographed dancer, would rather see non dancers and their improvement week by week, don’t think I can do much more of this series

  • Rose

Loved Gemma’s dance tonight! Think Debbie and jonnie could be in trouble.

  • Charlotte Katie Bartle

I felt like it lacked the spark that Blackpool usually has. Can’t put my finger on why. I really think the inconsistent judging is one of the reasons though. I can’t fathom how it’s getting to the extent it is. Looking forward to the result 🙂

As others have said, the big Blackpool night felt like a bit of an anti-climax and the back-up dancers I found intrusive and annoying. Jonnie could be in deep trouble tonight (tuck your bum in for goodness sake!) and I think he and Susan (or possibly Debbie, who had a bit of a dip this evening, I thought) will contest the dance off.

    • Natasha King

He can’t actually tuck his bum in because of his prosthetic. His centre of balance is completely different, if he puts his bum in he’ll fall over. He explained this in an interview so think it’s unfair the judges continually picked on him about it.

Should have been Debbie that has gone
