Aston Merrygold Eliminated From Strictly Come Dancing 2017

As revealed in what is proving to be one of the most talked about Strictly Spoilers ever, in one of the biggest upsets Strictly has ever seen early favourites to lift the glitterball Aston and Janette have been eliminated after losing in the Dance Off to Mollie and AJ.

You can relive their Paso Doble from Halloween Week in the video below:

There’s already been extensive discussion on this topic here, on Facebook and on Twitter but I’ll ask the question anyway…… Did the right couple leave? Excuse me while I just go and duck for cover but you can let me know your thoughts about that or anything else to do with this weekend’s Strictly right here in the comments section below (comments only appear on individual posts and not the home page) or on either of the social networks.

Each time you comment you earn an entry into the competition to win one of three £20 Amazon UK vouchers I have to give away each and every week.

Or you can vote in this week’s poll and tell me who of the 9 couples left you would like to see lift the glitterball next month

  1. Based purely on that dance-off, yes, the right couple left. But honestly, neither of them should’ve been in the dance-off while Susan, Ruth, and Jonnie are still there. Not based on dancing, anyway.

  2. Rigged by producers, giving him a Viennese waltz to such unsuitable music, and in that costume. Still, it leaves the field clear for judges’ favourite Debbie.

  3. I was in the bath – you don’t wish to know that, but my mum was watching It Takes Two and told me that Shirley had said she must vote on that dance at that point. But this contradicts her previous comment that she marks on the individual’s performance, marking up or down against previous dances. OK so this is in the competition itself, not the dance-off, but my own conspiracy theory is that the Beeb is not making enough money because people are not phoning in, so … vote out a favourite and people will vote in their droves to ensure this doesn’t happen again. But then there are people like me who just aren’t going to watch anymore (except I’ve just heard that Alexandra and Gorka are doing the Argentine Tango so I just have to watch that.)
